Paula is a French–Spanish IP lawyer at Umami Law, working across languages and legal systems to support clients before the EUIPO and national offices across Europe. She advises clients in French, English and Spanish, helping them navigate procedures and documents in the working languages of the EUIPO. She plays a key role in deepening Umami Law’s links with the EUIPO and national IP institutions, helping to ensure that local procedures remain aligned with wider European brand and design strategies.

Paula’s work covers the full lifecycle of trade marks and designs, from clearance, filings and portfolio management to contentious proceedings before IP Offices. Clients value her energetic, approachable manner and her ability to turn procedural complexity into clear, actionable next steps for legal, business and marketing teams. With professional roots in Spain and advanced EUIPO training in Alicante, she adds a distinctly Iberian perspective to Umami Law’s European offering.

Outside the office, Paula is as enthusiastic in the kitchen as she is in client meetings. She loves to cook and often compares a well-thought-out IP strategy to a good recipe: carefully chosen ingredients, the right sequence, and a sense of timing that makes everything come together

Selected experience

Handling trade mark and design filings before the EUIPO, including drafting specifications and managing communications with the registries.
Assisting in opposition and cancellation matters, including evidence collection and co‑ordination with local counsel where needed.
Managing day‑to‑day portfolio tasks for international clients, from renewals and recordals to basic monitoring and reporting.
